Blueflint Feb 2011

With their debut album 'High Bright Morning' released to critical acclaim in October 2009, (Rock'n'Reel Music Magazine 4 Stars ****, The List 5 Stars *****, The Scotsman 4 Stars ****, The Skinny 4 Stars ****, Daily Express 4 Stars ****
Sunday Herald '...this is a Scots triumph... excellent songwriting,") Blueflint are a band whose sound traverses musical genres. Although drawing on Americana influences the band's material carries its own unique flavour, with stories of heartbreak, revenge and joy being brought to life by achingly heartfelt vocals and sublime harmonising. The five piece lineup's striking sound is based around the banjo duo of Deborah Arnott and Clare Neilson and deftly captured by drums, Roddy Neilson on fiddle and Hugh Kelly on double-bass.

The band's live performances have captivated audiences throughout the UK and Ireland, and have established Blueflint as an original and refreshing act. Blueflint have played a host of renowned events, including most recently Celtic Connections, Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party, The Wickerman, Belladrum and the 19th Annual Appalachian & Bluegrass Music Festival , Omagh.

Blueflint are currently working on their new album due for release later this year, which will be followed by a CD launch tour of the UK and Ireland. 2012 will see the band taking their sound to Europe and North America.

March News

March 09 News

Hi Folks

Blueflint have a lot of news for you..its an exciting year for us with lots going on.

New CD- "High Bright Morning."

The CD is nearing completion and is sounding great! We are back in the recording studio with producer Jim Sutherland to finish off a couple of songs. It has been a real pleasure working with everyone who has been involved and we are very excited about releasing it.

Artist Chis Biddlecome has been working on the artwork for the CD. Chris has worked as an independent artist for the last 20 years and has exhibited his mixed media constructions throughout the UK and internationally. We have worked with him in the past in a collaboration for 'Cabin Exchange.' For the design of the CD he has come up with something really special.

The CD will be released on the 30th September; free downloads of a couple of the new tracks from the CD will be made available from the Blueflint website/ myspace site shortly.
